Music Video: Inspirations on the Third Tune (Hymn 692, 1982 Hymnal)
St. Paul's Music Minister - Dr. Felix Eisenhauer - is creating a series of piano improvisations inspired by hymns found in the 1982 Hymnal. In addition to being an accomplished musician, Felix is a talented photographer and provides the cover image for each video. This series of remarkable pieces is intended to help us all find places of calm and peace in the midst of COVID-19 and #holydistancing.
For his most recent piece, he chose “I heard the voice of Jesus say,” Hymn 692.
"I heard the voice of Jesus say, "Come unto me and rest; and in your weariness lay down your head upon my breast." I came to Jesus as I was, so weary, worn, and sad; I found in him a resting place and he has made me glad."
Hymn Words: Horatius Bonar (1808-1889), alt.
Hymn Music: The Third Tune, Thomas Tallis (1505?-1585); ed. John Wilson (b. 1905)
The people of St. Paul's love you and wish you peace.
