Outreach

Monthly Outreach Projects

We pull together each month to support an important cause. There are several ways to participate: 1) You can pick up one of our red REACH bags and return it filled with supplies to help make a difference in the lives of our neighbors. 2) You can make a donation to support the current cause. 3) You can offer prayers. Nearly 100% of our members participate in these projects and help to make a difference in the world.

Past causes have included: Laundry Love, African Team Ministries, Reach to support Foster Care, Reach for Paws (supplies and funds to benefit animals in local shelters), Canned food drives to support local food pantries, Coats for Kids, Community Christmas Shoppe, the Red Shirt Project, medical mission trips, Reach for Basic Needs (collection of glasses and socks for those in need), and many others!

In addition to all that, because we have declared ourselves an abolitionist congregation, we work to do all we can to abolish the scourge of modern-day slavery including local human trafficking and slavery across the world.

One of the ways that you can help to support this cause with your consumer dollars. While shopping, look for labels that identify foods as being fair trade (which involves ensuring that the workers behind these goods and services are treated fairly and that human rights are maintained throughout the supply chain). Every purchase has an effect. Thank you for making a difference!

Outreach Programs – when we receive a large bequest, we often tithe 10% for causes beyond the church. In the past few years we have provided grants to support:

Assistance League, The Abundant Table (farm ministry), Abolish Slavery Now, Project Understanding, a Brazilian Project – Judo for all, and free ESL lessons for our neighbors who want to learn English, Family to Family, Family Promise of West Ventura County, CLUE Ventura County (program for economic justice), Rising Stars Concert of the Ventura Music Festival, Young Life Ventura, Ventura County Medical Resource Foundation, Step Up Ventura (preschool for homeless families), Laundry Love, and the Alzheimer’s Association

We also have an active Outreach Committee that oversees our current outreach efforts within the community, including St. Paul's involvement with programs like Family to Family here in Ventura feeding the hungry. For more information, please email our office at [email protected]. We welcome new members and anyone interested in outreach at St. Paul's to work with our committee.

REACH!

REACH! is a ministry of outreach here at St. Paul's Ventura. We strive to reach out to our community with God's love. This program is sustained by the donations of our parishioners who fill up our red bags each month with relevant items. Every month, ministry leaders choose an organization whose mission allows us to put our faith into action. Organizations we have partnered with …
