Sacrifice in the Time of Coronavirus - A Sermon with ASL Interpretation
It’s a difficult time. There’s a lot of sacrificing going on all around us. So, one of the themes we explore in this sermon is sacrifice. We also take a look at the scripture of the day and talk about what it means that Jesus is the sheep, and the shepherd and also the gate through which we enter. To close, she poses these important questions, “Why should we be expected to sacrifice so much if we, ourselves, are strong and healthy and likely to survive COVID-19 if we contract it? What is it that Jesus calls us to do about the challenges we face today?” The beautiful ASL interpretation is provided by our wonderful interpreter, Nadia Talley. Sermon from the online service for Sunday, May 3, 2020 from St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Ventura, California. At St. Paul's, were learning sign language. Why? Because all are welcome here.
