Music: Inspirations on Epworth, Hymn 476
St. Paul's Music Minister - Dr. Felix Eisenhauer - uses his gifts to create extraordinary piano improvisations inspired by hymns from the 1982 Hymnal.
His most recent piece is "Inspirations on Epworth", inspired by Hymn 476.
I'm a longtime choir member, and this is not a hymn we sing as often as others. But I find the lyrics compelling:
"Can we by searching find out God or formulate his ways?"
Felix also provided the photo accompanying this post. Here's what he said about it:
"I took the picture a few years ago when I attended a family reunion in the French countryside. I came across this wall fragment in the forest. I don't know who built it, for what purpose, how long it had been there, but it was very compelling none-the-less as evidence of something."
May this music bring you peace and a sense of calm during our current situation.
